FAQ: 360° profiling for executives
01
360° profiling: an executive assessment built from your ecosystem
360° profiling builds a picture of a leader from the people who actually work with them: managers, board members, peers, team members, clients and partners. Instead of describing yourself with adjectives, you show how your ecosystem rates your leadership, your judgment and your potential.
For an executive, it answers the question every chair and search partner asks but rarely verifies properly: what is this person really like to work with? References arrive late, are hand-picked and informal. A 360° profile brings that answer to the start of the conversation, in a structured and comparable form.
02
From an internal HR tool to an asset you own
Classic 360-degree feedback is run by an employer, inside one company, mainly for development. It is valuable, but it has three limits for an executive: it belongs to the employer, it disappears when you leave, and it only reflects one organisation at one point in time.
1Signature® Data 360° is built for the individual. It can include people from several companies and stages of your career, it follows you from one role to the next, and it is designed to be used outward: on your personal page, in your film, in your pitch to a board or a search partner. You decide what is shared, with whom and when.
03
Four layers of evidence
Leadership and potential. How you set direction, make decisions under uncertainty, build and develop teams, and deliver results. This is what boards care about most and can verify least.
Skills and expertise. The functional and industry strengths others rely on you for, which is essential evidence when you move sector or function.
Social style. How you communicate, handle conflict, influence and work with boards and teams. It predicts fit with a culture far better than an interview impression.
What you are famous for. The strengths people associate with you spontaneously. Often surprising, always useful: they become the backbone of your story and your pitch.
04
Evidence in the moments that matter
- Board and C-level interviews: back every claim with what others say, without sounding self-promotional.
- Search partners: give them a reason to put you forward for a sector or functional move they would otherwise consider risky.
- Negotiation: support the level, scope and package you ask for with evidence of impact.
- Yourself: know which strengths to lead with, which blind spots to address before your next role, and which environments suit you best.
05
For succession, talent reviews and transitions
In succession planning, boards often choose between candidates they know mainly through presentations. Data 360° adds what the people around each candidate actually experience, which widens the pool beyond the most visible profiles and makes decisions easier to defend.
In restructurings, giving departing leaders a profile they can take with them is one of the most practical forms of support: it helps them land faster and protects the employer brand. Always with each person's consent, and inside a strong privacy framework.
06
From invitation to profile, privacy by design
1. Choose your raters. A balanced mix of people above, beside and below you, plus clients or partners, across the companies that matter to your story.
2. Collect structured ratings. Everyone answers the same short questionnaire on leadership, skills, social style and what you are known for.
3. Turn it into insight. Ratings are aggregated into a clear profile: strengths, blind spots and the themes that should anchor your story.
Your data belongs to you. It is processed inside a strong legal and privacy framework that protects your image, and nothing is shared without your decision.
07
Frequently asked questions
How many people should rate me? Enough to give a balanced view across levels and organisations. Variety matters more than volume.
What if some feedback is negative? It stays yours. It helps you prepare and choose the right environment, and you decide what appears in anything you share.
How much does Data 360° cost? Pricing depends on the size of your ecosystem and how you use it, alone or with Branding and Opportunities. It is included in our VIP package. Talk to us for a proposal.
